William Preston's Smithfield in Blacksburg, VA, has commissioned Chloe Shelton Films to tell the story of this historic site as part of the 250th Anniversary Celebration held in July 2024.

The theme of the celebration is "From Deep Roots - Forging an Inclusive Future."
​
Pre-production began in April and principal photography began in May.

Roots of a Nation: The Smithfield Story premiered on July 17th at 5:45 PM at the Lyric Theatre in Blacksburg, VA! It was then screened for the guests of the Celebration.
