Did you watch the new Extreme Makeover Home Edition this weekend on HGTV? A little fact about me...my desire to make films started with Extreme Makeover Home Edition!
When I was 8 years old my parents got to help on an EMHE build in Blacksburg, VA. They met Paul DiMeo, Paige Hemmis and Ty Pennington and even appeared in the show (in glimpses)! I started watching it and fell in love with the idea of the inspiring and heart-warming stories combined with the new beautiful designs and the fun designers and of course, Ty! My favorites were Paige and Paul!
I made my very first "film" when I was 8 years old with an Extreme Makeover doll house and dolls (Yes, they made them and I had one!) and edited it with Windows Movie Maker! (Just don't ask to see it!)
In 2013, when I was just 13, I got to meet Paul DiMeo in Roanoke where he was filming a show called "Second Act." He welcomed me into his quiet space when I interrupted him as he was playing his guitar and relaxing before time to film. I met the amazing cinematographer from Red Rock Films and got to look through his camera as he set up shots and then spent the afternoon with Paul and the crew as they filmed the final scenes for the climax of the show.
Paul DiMeo was so amazing and even stayed in touch via email for a while! This show still inspires me today! So thankful for people like Paul DiMeo who have taken time to inspire me along the way!
