If you follow "Chloe Shelton Films" on social media you may have seen that a wonderful thing happened back in March! Amidst the pandemic restrictions of the past year, and after a lot of wondering how we would ever get to share our recent projects with our cast and crew, friends, family and supporters in the current climate we've all been dealing with, we were able to to host an amazing night of celebration of films (and of women filmmakers during Women's History Month!) Kayla Saunders (of Kayla B Productions), Caitlin McAvoy, Ashley Smith and I worked together with the Academy Center of the Arts in nearby Lynchburg to plan and execute a Covid-safe celebration in their beautiful, historic theatre build in 1905!
Together we premiered Wayward, my film set in Colonial Virginia that I shot in the summer of 2019, Dreaming About You, the music video that I partnered with Sullivan Smith and the Stray Lions to create in the summer of 2020, Almost Home, written and directed by Kayla Saunders (and I served as co-producer and First Assistant Director), that we filmed right before the world changed in March of 2020, Libby, a documentary directed by Caitlin McAvoy (in which I served as editor over the past year), and I Need Coffee, written and directed by Ashley Smith, (Kayla Saunders served as Producer and Assistant Director and I had my first experience as Production Designer and Wardrobe), shot in September 2021.
After such a long road, it was so nice to share our work and celebrate with many of our cast, crew, friends and family who made it all possible. Of course, in the photos you'll notice that people were very much spread out amongst the 3 stories of seating!
Sullivan Smith and the Stray Lions entertained with a preshow set and Tremayne Edwards served as Emcee for the night.
