What an honor and a privilege it was to be commissioned by the Salem Museum and Historical Society in Salem, Virginia, to make this film to be included in their 100 year Anniversary display for World War 1. I was just 18 years old when I made this film.
As a history buff, I loved using actual letters to, from and about Robert Whitescarver to discover his story and help humanize this experience of a service member living through the Great War.
